'The Mummy's Curse' (1944, regia di Leslie Goodwings) inizia con la palude dove erano scomparsi la mummia (Lon Chaney Jr.) e la principessa Ananka nel film 'The Mummy's Ghost' che viene prosciugata da un'impresa edile (anche se nel film precedente la palude era in Massachussets e questa invece è in Lousiana!). Pur con personaggi diversi, intreccio e motivazioni rimangono simili a quelli dei film precedenti del ciclo, rendendo la pellicola sin troppo prevedibile, oltre che fiacca nella messa in scena. Il decadimento della serie fa sì che questo sia il film conclusivo del ciclo dedicato alla mummia prodotto dalla Universal.

Even in America and the UK the Mummy series of films are rarely shown other than the first Karloff film. They were shown far more frequently in the 1960s when I was a youngster.
We need a Universal horror season on Turner Classic Movies. :))
